Baptist hospital, founded in 1960 is the flagship facility of the Baptist Health South Florida health system. Baptist health is the largest not-for-profit health care organization in Florida. It has an outstanding reputation for service excellence. It makes available an entire range of healthcare services such as cardiovascular care, pediatric, rehabilitation, home health, and cancer. There are also wellness programs that are offered in areas including diabetes, women's health, and heart disease.

There are over 550 beds in the facility and it also offers a pediatric emergency room, a sleep diagnostic center, and also a neonatal intensive care unit. The emergency center treats over 75,000 patients every year.
