The Everglades Alligator Farm in Miami is a privately owned attraction where lots of real alligators are sheltered. This farm started to operate in 1979 and operated by the family of Mr. John Hudson where it started first as an airboat ride attraction. In 1980's this place was permitted by the State of Florida to make commercial farming of alligators. This is where they started to shelter and breed alligators and now the number of alligators in that farm is about 2,000 in different sizes and bulk. They keep the smaller alligators inside the grown out pens and the larger ones in natural locations called breeding ponds.
Everglade is one of the main and most visited tourist attractions in Miami.
