Lincoln Road (the street) got built in 1912 by real estate developer, Carl Fisher. The area has thrived as sophisticated retail spot in Miami. It was redesigned in the 1950s, and turned out to be the country's first outdoor pedestrian malls.
The Lincoln Road Mall is stretched along Lincoln Road from Washington Ave to Alton Road, covering almost the entire width of Miami Beach. It is a beautiful and happening pedestrian street, where restaurants, art galleries and shops seem flooded in numbers. The wide pedestrian-only streets remain packed with people, and are tastefully decorated on Christmas and Hanukkah.
