Starting off its operations in 1949 this museum has slowly become a landmark in Miami with its up to date exhibits and top of the line facilities. It must be noted that the museum is slowly shifting its day to day operations from its current location to Downtown Miami soon.
Exhibits in this museum are categorized according to science, prehistoric, space and ancient history. Some of the upcoming exhibits in this museum are Cabaret Mechanical Theater, Heart Smart, Immersion Theater, and Energy Tracker. This museum is also open for large group visit in case you are traveling with a lot of kids.
Tickets for this museum are priced at $14.95 for adults while seniors above 62 years and students are charged $10.95 per visit. Children under 3 and museum members are not charged any entry fees. The museum is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm. People from the local Dade County are subsidized and charged only $12.70 and $9.30 for Adults, seniors and Students respectively.
If you want to experience something truly interesting then you visit time your visit with the laser shows that are held in the Miami Museum Of Science. The Planetarium Laser Show has separate admission rates $8 adults, $4 for children. This show is hosted on the first week Friday of each month and uses the latest technology. This show is very popular and has been running since the mid 70s. The show happens in the museums 4 storey by 7 storey dome. There is also a special event commemorating Galileo's use of the telescope 400 years back.
