MIA is composed of a U-shaped terminal complex with three passenger terminals surrounding, on three sides: the North Terminal, the South Terminal and the Central terminal. Passenger can be picked up or dropped off on the upper driveway at stops 1 (North Terminal), stop 2 (Central Terminal) and stops 5, 7 & 9 (South Terminal). Driving Directions to Miami International Airport: Due to its convenient location, the airport is easily accessible. Whether you are flying from the airport or just picking up friends, the following directions will direct you to the airport. Please note that ongoing roadway construction in the surrounding areas may increase you expected travel time to the airport.
1) From downtown Miami
- Head east on E Flagler ST / SR-968 towards SE First Avenue.
- Take a right onto SE Second Avenue / Abel Holtz Boulevard and drive on the SE Second Avenue.
- Merge onto I-95 North and take exit 4A towards I-195 East / Miami Beach.
- Turn off at SR-112 West / Airport Expressway via Exit 4B towards airport.
- Merge onto NW 42nd Avenue / N LE Jeune Road / SR-953 South via the exit on the left pointing to Rental Car Center / Cell Phone Lot.
- The airport entrance is located on the right.
2) From South Beach
- Set out towards east on Lincoln Road and make a U-turn onto Lincoln Road.
- Take the first left onto Collins Avenue / SR-A1A.
- Make a right onto Fifth Street / SR-A1A South.
- Stay on the SR-A1A South until it becomes I-395 W.
- Merge onto I-95 North via exit 1B towards Fort Lauderdale.
- Turn off at SR-112 West / Airport Expressway through exit 4B towards airport.
- Merge onto NW 42nd Avenue / N LE Jeune Road / SR-395 South via the exit on the left towards Rental Car Center / Cell Phone Lot.
- You will find the airport on your right.
3) Form North Beach
- Head north on Collins Avenue / SR-A1A North towards 72nd Street and take a left onto 72nd Street.
- Take the third left onto Abbott Avenue / SR-A1A South and follow the SR-A1A South.
- Make a slight right onto W 41st Street / Arthur Godfrey Road until it converts into SR-112 W.
- Drive straight onto NW 21st Street.
- Take the valet parking ramp towards airport exit / arrivals / departures.
- Turn right onto Perimeter Road and make a slight right towards airport exit / Rental Car Center / Cell Phone Lot.
- A slight right onto NW 20th Street and make another right towards airport exit / Car Rental Return.
- Stay straight onto NW 21st Street.
- The airport will appear in your line of sight.
4) From Key Biscayne
- Drive south on Crandon Boulevard towards Sonesta Drive.
- Take a U-turn at Sonesta Drive onto Crandon Boulevard until it converts into the Rickenbacker CSWY.
- Turn off at I-95 North towards downtown Miami / airport.
- Merge onto SR-836 W via exit 3A on the left towards airport
- Take the NW 42nd Avenue North / LE Jeune Road exit.
- Take the ramp towards Miami International Airport.
- Make a slight right onto NW 21st Street.
- Follow the directional signs to the airport.
5) From Fort Lauderdale Airport
- Head east on Terminal Drive and merge onto N Federal HWY / US-1 South / SR-5 South / SR-A1A towards Dania Beach / Hollywood.
- Take a slight right onto Griffin Road / SR-818 W and drive on along the SR-818 W.
- Merge onto I-95 South via the ramp on the left towards Miami.
- Turn off at SR-112 West / Airport Expressway via exit 4 towards MIA.
- Drive straight onto NW 21st Street.
- Follow the signs to the airport.
If you are just flying to the airport, you may need directions that help get you out of the airport. For visitors arriving on a domestic flight or from Canada or the Bahamas, you are suggested to walk down your concourse to the terminal. You will be on level 2 and take the elevator to level 1 to baggage claim. Ground transportation is available outside the terminal on Level 1. Ticket counters and departures gates can be found on upper level 2.

Apart from passengers arriving from Canada or the Bahamas, international arriving passengers should head to U.S Customs and Border Protection's passport control. After clearing passport control, head to collect baggage and clear U.S. Customs. Outside U.S. Customs is the Interline Lobby, where baggage may be re-checked for those who have a connecting flight.
You will stand on the level 3 of the South Terminal J, upon exiting U.S. Customs. To get access to ground transportation, take the elevator to the level 1. If you need to connect to other airlines, head to the level 2. Parking facilities could be accessible from the second level of the terminal.
