There is a lot to see and discover underwater here and with experienced divers at you side, you are in for an experience of a life time. Instructions are also available on site.

For wreck diving lovers, Key West offers some world class wreck diving sites. One of them is the second largest ship, the Hoyt S. Vanderberg, which was sunk on purpose to on 27 May, 2009 as an artificial reef. If you are a certified diver or snorkeler, remember to bring your certification along. There are also certifications courses run on many locations if you want one.

Sand Key Lighthouse reef is another famous and highly visited place around the Key West. This reef is ten miles long and you would often find divers and snorkelers on excursions here. There is a large iron lighthouse that adds to beauty of this site.

Another main attraction is the Ten-Fathom Ledge which is famous for its caves and overhangs that are the house to a wide variety of marine life. You can find the remains of an old 18th century ship’s anchors which are heavily encrusted with the corals at this location.

Other attractions are the Joe’s tug (a tugboat full of Groupers, barracudas and horse eye jacks), the Cayman Salvor (another purposely sunk vessel which now is the house to jewfish and moray eel) and the Atocha (a site discovered by a treasure hunter). If you want to know what lies beneath, be it marine life or the possible treasures, travel to Key West for that perfect experience.
