The former home of Jesse Porter, a renowned collector of art and other things of aesthetic consequence, in 1934, the house is furnished with six generations of artifacts and 19th century antiques. The Heritage House Museum has been a popular destination for those availing Key West Florida travel deals. Unfortunately, the museum has been closed down after being sold out for $ 2 million on 18-04-2010. The historic contents from the structure secured an additional $60,000 in the deal.

The house is known to have seen the likes of Ernest Hemingway, Tennessee Williams and actor Gloria Swanson. Robert Frost spent 16 years in the cottage behind the museum, which has been duly named after the great writer and poet.
