South Beach Miami

South Beach forms an integral part of any visit or travel in Miami. South Beach is one of the most, if not the most popular of all neighborhoods, in Miami and is frequented by thousands of tourists from the world over every year. The South Beach neighborhood has been built on the barrier island that separates the Biscayne Bay from the Atlantic Ocean and it comprises 23 blocks of the southernmost portion of the island.

The establishment of the neighborhood began in the 1910s and hence it is one of the oldest parts of the city. The South Beach region has altered a lot over the years owing to a number of natural factors as well as man made manipulations. The hurricane of 1926 devastated a greater portion of the neighborhood while the advanced tourism and a thriving economy have helped to build it further.

Some of the famous parks in the neighborhood are the South Pointe Park located between the South Pointe Drive and Washington Avenue, the Lummus Park extending from Ocean Drive 5th St to 14th St, and the Collins Park at Collins Avenue and 21st St. the Miami Beach Golf Club at Alton Road and W 23rd St, which is known for its wonderful golf greens.
