Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Built between the years 1914 and 1916 the Vizcaya Villa in Miami, Florida forms an elegant and historically significant backdrop to many tours and Miami travel packages. The Vizcaya is a villa built on the Biscayne Bay using the North Italian architectural styles of the 16th century. The building of the house was completed between the years 1914 and 1916 and the surrounding gardens and elaborate boundaries were completed in the early years of the 1920s.

The building of the main house as well as the surrounding grounds and gardens are now used as a museum. Recognized as the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in the present day, the structures incorporate elements from the Renaissance period, Baroque styles, and elements of Mediterranean Revival and touches of Italian Renaissance Revival.

The Vizcaya Villa is administered by the government of the Miami-Dade County of Florida. The Vizcaya Villa was included into the United States National Register of Historic Places on the 29th of September in the year 1970 and was further moved up on the 15th of November in the year 1978. It was proclaimed to be United States National Historic Landmark on the 19th of April in the year 1994.
